Man fatally shot by police at bus park in Clarendon


A police-involved fatal shooting is under investigation in Clarendon.

According to reports, a man was shot and killed by police during an attempted arrest early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 2:58 a.m. at the Vere Municipal Bus Park.

Police say they responded to the location after the man was allegedly seen trying to break into a parked vehicle. During the attempted arrest, the man was reportedly shot and injured.

He was transported to the May Pen Hospital, where he later died.

The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, is now probing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
