Alleged robber fatally shot by police in St. Catherine
The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, has launched a probe into another fatal police shooting.
The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Omar Foden, otherwise known as 'Munga', a resident of Osborne Store in Clarendon. He was reportedly shot and killed during a confrontation with members of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch, C-TOC, in Bodles, St. Catherine, on Tuesday.
Reports indicate that Foden and another suspect were involved in an armed robbery in Tollgate, during which a victim was shot and seriously injured. Law enforcement was alerted and quickly intercepted the suspects’ getaway vehicle—a white Toyota Axio—in the Bodles area.
According to police reports, the driver, believed to be Foden, allegedly pointed a firearm at officers. He was subsequently shot and pronounced dead.
