Escapee 'Camfa Ball Recaptured in Downtown Kingston
The prisoner who escaped police custody while receiving treatment at a Corporate Area hospital earlier this week is now back behind bars.
Twenty-nine-year-old Garfield Dias, also known as “Camfa Ball,” of St. Paul Lane in Kingston 11, was recaptured by officers from the Kingston Western Police Division in downtown Kingston.
According to reports from the St. Andrew South Police, Dias escaped around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday while undergoing medical treatment. He is currently facing charges of grievous bodily harm.
Authorities say investigations into the circumstances of his escape are ongoing.
